| Thumbs Up! | Key player in a wide variety of research areas. Hosts a cloud environment with a large number of detailed brain maps. fMRI, connectomics, genetics, all good stuff. One of the few places that has decent human data. |
| Thumbs Up! | Open data repository that supports other projects like Allen and MICrONs. A key player in the developing cloud ecosystem for neuroscience, involving file formats like HDF5 and scalable containers for simulation. |
| Neutral | This project is over, funding has ceased. The result is there's a lot of dangling work product, there are some great tools except they won't install because the certificates aren't being maintained on the remote machines. Hit-and-miss, grab the tools while you still can. |
| Thumbs Up! | Big well funded operation, they don't seem to be in the business of creating tools but they're generating some amazing research. If you like connectomics you should definitely check this out. |
| Thumbs Up! | A tremendous collection of connectomics. There is data, there are toolsets, and there is a lot of excellent scientific discussion. This project is being run out of Sebastian Seung's lab at Princeton University. |
| Thumbs Up! | Hosts a virtual laboratory in the cloud that supports end-to-end modeling. Great stuff! Select from available morphologies or create one synthetically, select from available electrical models or create one, combine and send to the NEURON simulator, visualize the results. If you're prepared you can go end to end in 10 minutes. This is an excellent toolset supported by some brilliant people. Definitely worth investigating. |
